Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 100 grams of beef, thinly sliced
- 1 cup of carrot, julienned
- 1 cup of spinach
- 1 small zucchini, julienned
- 1 cup of bean sprouts
- 2 teaspoons of gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cups of rice, cooked
- 10 grams of fresh ginseng, thinly sliced
Preparation Method
Preparing the Ingredients
Begin by preparing all of the vegetables and proteins. Rinse the spinach and bean sprouts thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. Julienne the carrots and zucchini. Thinly slice the beef and ginseng. Mince the garlic cloves.
Marinating the Beef
In a small bowl, mix the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, and half of the minced garlic. Allow it to marinate for at least 20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking the Vegetables and Meat
Heat a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add a splash of sesame oil and sauté the carrots until they are slightly tender. Remove and set aside.
Repeat the process with the zucchini and spinach, seasoning each lightly with a pinch of salt.
Next, cook the marinated beef in the same pan until it is browned and cooked through. Set aside.
Cooking the Ginseng and Bean Sprouts
Add the sliced ginseng to the pan and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.
Blanch the bean sprouts in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain well.
Assembling the Bibimbap
- Begin with a deep serving bowl. Add the cooked rice as the base layer.
- Arrange each of the cooked vegetables and ginseng in a circular fashion around the bowl, with the cooked beef in the center.
- Add a dollop of gochujang on top of the rice.
- Fry an egg sunny side up and place it right in the center of the bowl, atop the beef.
