Ingredients

• Kataifi pastry - 500g
• Unsalted butter - 200g, melted
• Sweetened condensed milk - 1 can
• Cream - 250ml
• Mozzarella cheese - 250g, shredded
• Mascarpone cheese - 125g
• Sugar - 1 cup
• Water - 1/2 cup
• Cardamom pods - 5
• Rose water or orange blossom water - 1 tbsp
• Pistachios - 100g, finely chopped
• Qahwa (Arabic coffee) - 1 cup, strong brewed
• Saffron strands - a pinch

Preparation

Prepare the Syrup

To start with the qahwa Knafeh, we need to prepare the aromatic syrup. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has fully dissolved. Add the cardamom pods and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to merge together.
