Preparation
Preparing the Shrimp
Begin by rinsing the shrimp thoroughly under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with lime juice, salt, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Cooking the Cassava
Peel and cut the cassava into small chunks. Place in a pot of boiling water and cook until soft, approximately 20 minutes. Drain the water and mash the cassava until smooth. Set aside.
