Preparation
Begin by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into small pieces. This allows them to cook evenly. Finely chop the onion and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the peeled potatoes with water, ensuring they are fully submerged.
Cooking Process
Step 1: Boiling the Potatoes
Place the potatoes in a pot with cold water and a pinch of salt. Bring the pot to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender. This step will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Check the time with a cooking timer to ensure perfect timing.
Step 2: Mixing the Ingredients
