Ingredients
- 12 sheets of filo pastry
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1 pound of ground lamb
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons of ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons of ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or to taste
- 1/2 cup of dried apricots, chopped
- 1/2 cup of raisins
- 1/4 cup of slivered almonds, toasted
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 egg for egg wash
Preparation
Step 1: Preparing the Filling
Begin by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant, which should take about 5 minutes.
