Preparation
- Start by cleaning the pork shoulder. Trim any excess fat, but make sure to leave a good amount for flavor.
- Peel and quarter the potatoes. Slice the carrots into thick rounds.
- Dice the onions and mince the garlic.
- Chop the cabbage into large pieces and slice the apple which will add a hint of sweetness to the dish.
Cooking Process
- In a large Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork shoulder and brown all sides. This should take about 10 minutes.
